chavez jr did more ppv buys with martinez then canelo with khan, smith, angulo, lara. canelo needs a big name to have a big ppv. chavez is that big name. ggg he's too scared of, pac is not going up that much, and cotto.......he already fought and no one wants that sh-it. chavez jr is the only one left around 147-160.

Takes another year off comes back and fights a bum in Mexico because Showtime refused to pay for it. Jr just has his daddy's last name which he has dragged through the mud. He needs Canelo and he is not the same draw he was 5 years ago pre-martinez fight that was a lifetime ago in boxing.

Actually canelo doesn't need JR but it's a good payday so why not. Canelo is the A side and will be JR's biggest payday so he needs to be greatful and sign already.

canelo-khan did 460k not 600k. that was golden boys lie. no one cares about losing when you are a big name. guys like hoya, cotto, etc..lost all the time. either you are a big name or you aren't. chavez jr is especially when you factor in the audience that they are aiming to secure. mexicans and mexican americans.

Nah it did 600k. lol The same media outlet that reported that amount reported Chavez doing 475k and I love how you ignore Canelo doing 900k buys with Cotto a year and half ago or 2.2m buys with Floyd. No matter how you try to skew it Chavez has NO LEVERAGE with Canelo he's sold more ppvs, been on PPV every year not fighting in mexico on obscure channels and absent from PPV for half a decade.
