I'm a huge Floyd fan but that doesn't mean I have to agree with everything he says.

I think he is wrong on this one. But he's entitled to his opinion.

Mike Tyson was a regular critic of Mayweather, and picked Pacquiao to destroy him, but after May-Pac he said that Mayweather looked invincible. Opinions are exactly that. I could name other fighters, analysts/commentators that felt that Ward won, and those opinions would be just as useless as Mayweather's. It's amazing that this thread is this long. Kovalev lost, and history isn't changing anytime soon.

Thanks for this. Of course the real context is about who is p4p #1. If Floyd plans to come back in late 2017 or 2018, the most significant spot for him to claim, assuming industry acknowledges it, but Floyd HAS to claim #1 for his own ego, and if Floyd comes back to fight any champion while Choco is #1, he'll most likely fill that spot again. Hence ''undefeated.'' What does Ward have to do with this? Ward is still undefeated, and before the Kova fight, many industry articles were hyping Ward to surpass Floyd's legacy. Perhaps industry fueling TMT's mgmt to come back sooner than later.

It's easier to move to #1 when Floyd contextualizes Choco vs Ward. It's hard for Floyd to be #1 if Ward is at #2. Ironically Choco looked beaten and just survived against Cuadras... has Ward or Floyd's face ever looked like that?
