I'm the biggest Max hater on here. This was my first time watching the fight with the HBO commentary. I forgot Lampley didn't do this fight. Max and Roy worked good together. I enjoyed Max as the blow by blow guy. The chemistry was good and he wasn't calling phantom punches like Lampley. They need to move Lampley out and have Max do the blow by blow with Roy in the second chair and bring in Stephen A. Smith and let him do the post fight interviews. Max isn't good at doing the interviews. But I thought Max and Roy worked well together and Max wasn't slurping Gonzalez. He was calling it like it was. He kept saying this is a close fight and pointing out how Cuadras punches are doing more damage in the later rds. I'm a big Max hater but I like him in this role better than his current role.Cuadras certainly gave Gonzalez the business in the last third of the fight. Gonzalez did much better in the first third, and the middle third was kind of split but you could feel the tide turning (if you could block out the slurping sounds emanating from Kellerman).
I felt it could be a draw or go either way because a couple of those rounds where Cuadras was turning the tide Gonzalez could have pulled out and you would pretty much have to give all those round to Cuadras to have him winning which I can see but Gonzalez also did some work. Heck of a fight though my favorite on HBO this year because the skill level both men showed.
As an aside it has to be tough boxing a difficult opponent when getting a ******* from Max Kellerman during the fight~ if Max would have let up off Gonzalez johnson Gonzalez might have had more energy and focus to deal with Cuadras better.Comment

I only gave chocolate one round out of the last 6 . And lol at the fan HBO scorer that had him up 5-0 after the first five its disgustingTell us your score going into the 6th round and then score these last six rounds.
All the videos start at the exact round
Round 6 Cuadras
Carlos Cuadras vs Roman Gonzalez 720p by foysol-bruce
Round 7 Gonzalez
Carlos Cuadras vs Roman Gonzalez 720p by foysol-bruce
Round 8 Cuadras
Carlos Cuadras vs Roman Gonzalez 720p by foysol-bruce
Max at the beginning of Rd 9: I saw a look on Chocolatito face i've never seen before. He looked disheartened
This is where Cuadras started to take Chocolatito's soul. Every punch landed moved Chocolatito off balance. A beautiful right hand in the last 15 seconds landed and made Chocolatito do the mannequin challenge the rest of the round.
Round 9-Cuadras
Carlos Cuadras vs Roman Gonzalez 720p by foysol-bruce
Round 10-Cuadras
Carlos Cuadras vs Roman Gonzalez 720p by foysol-bruce
Round 11 and Cuadras comes out as fresh as he was in Round 1. If Gonzalez is landing the more effective punches, and Cuadras is running, why is Cuadras the fresher fighter and Gonzalez looks spent? Both Roy and Max commented the previous round they've never seen Gonzalez look as spent as he does now.
Chocolatito hops around the ring throwing arm punches that have no effect when they land and Cuadras sets his feet and knocks Gonzalez off balance every time he lands. Ten more seconds in this round and Cuadras would've put Gonzalez down. He had him badly hurt towards the end of the round
Round 11-Cuadras
Carlos Cuadras vs Roman Gonzalez 720p by foysol-bruce
Round 12-Cuadras
Carlos Cuadras vs Roman Gonzalez 720p by foysol-bruce
You had to have Chocolatito up 5-0 going into the 6th if you had him winning this fight. Gonzalez was not up 5-0 going into the 6th round. If the cards were 3-2 or even 4-1 Cuadras won or got at least a draw.Comment

Huh? 5-0 going into the six? so....you are asserting he lost most of the later rounds and want me to play along with your little argument? no thanks bruh I don't save my scorecards and don't have time nor interested in reliving this...it was not hard to score unless you go about including facial damage as part of your scoring criteria...

a lot Cuadras shots were sloppy and didnt score cleanly...I mean I dont watch fights like the rest of you all -- its HD 1080p slowmotion for me...I'm not about to break out the gifs like I did for Ward vs. Kovalev but take the word of an expert Gonzalez won a UD.Comment

you do realise stamina is not just about how much you throw right? Cuadras moves his feet and body much more and more explosively than Estrada. Estrada has good stamina and fought a high pace against Gonzalez, but his pace has slowed in recent fights, in fact he's looked right down cautious and had low activity in some recent fights for long stretches, dude's carried opponents long after they were done. His hand is even more cause for concern, that s#it looks like it's shot. I think he can beat Chocolatito, but that hand could be his undoing, because Chocolatito always comes guns blazing, he's all about volume and unless you hurt him, or match his pace, you're not winning rounds.Nope, Cuadras throwed like 750. That is normal in this weight, and is nothing great for a mexican boxer of elite, of fact, Cuadras does not have good stamina, he constantly is opening his mouth, but that night he had his best condition. Gonzalez throwed like 850
Is totally obvious that Gonzalez is waiting that Cuadras is going to have problems to do the weight in September, is the only reason why he ducked so bad the direct rematch with Cuadras, first in December and then in March.
Estrada have a lot better stamina than Cuadras and Estrada matched Gonzalez in that department, that is crazy considering that Estrada fought in fu.cking 108 pounds.
Estrada in a good condition and in his real weight is able to throw like 900 punches.
That is the reason why Gonzalez ducked him in 112 pounds when both were champions.
Estrada is bigger and stronger than Cuadras and Gonzalez, in a good condition, I think that Estrada can ge a TKO vs Gonzalez, watching what Cuadras did.Comment

I actually agree that the two person booth is better because the three person booth when all are super positive it just turns into a **** sucking contest. With either just Lampley or just Max with Roy it works out better and it gives Roy more time to talk who actually offers some good insight most of the time. If they have a three person booth one needs to be in opposition to the more positive side to provide balance.I'm the biggest Max hater on here. This was my first time watching the fight with the HBO commentary. I forgot Lampley didn't do this fight. Max and Roy worked good together. I enjoyed Max as the blow by blow guy. About this fight though Max was on Gonzalez's **** hard because he was only sort of acknowledging Cuadras good work and didn't at all really till it was painfully apparent that Cuadras was putting in work on Gozalez at least as much as the other way around.Comment

I know that, man, but guys like Estrada moves a lot and throw a lot. Look Luis Nery, that guy have a crazy stamina.you do realise stamina is not just about how much you throw right? For me Estrada is finished, that injury is a serious problem.
But well, the fault is of Gonzalez, he ducked the rematch so bad when both were champs in 112 pounds and Estrada was in total shape.Comment
