true, but you can't look at this in a vacuum, context matters.
in an era where there are at least 4 different belts, each with "regular" and "interim" titlists, that accomplishment doesn't really mean what it used to. especially when said fighter fails to dominate any of those weight classes. he never made more than 1 defense of any of his belts before he either lost or failed to make weight.Comment

i dont see any special talent in him to be honest..... He is above average at best and has taken it pretty far...... I get your point about him not being dedicated but so many great fighters have had out of the ring troubles so im not surprised.... But how many fighters have been able to become champions in 4 weight classes??? Not many.... He is still one of the most popular boxers inthe world and he has a tough fight coming up...... His opponent recently knocked out amir imam....i will be tuning in for sure and i hope most boxing fans do as well....and that's precisely why he irks me so ****ing much.
He has all the talent in the world, and could be so much more if he just decided to dedicate himself to the sport and only the sport for like 10 years. Heck, he's 28 this year, so just 5 years of year round training, no days off, 3 to 4 fights per year. Hell, if i was him, i'd even try get floyd sr to train him, just to improve his defense. He hasn't got the same defensive instincts as jr, but still.
So he spends his peak years (28-33) serious and dedicated to the sport, fighting the best, fighting champions. In my opinion, he has the potential to have a hof career, just from those 5 years.
But nah, the chances of him doing that are slim to none.Comment

I agree Broner has a point. My problem is he did it to himself. I like the bragging and boasting. I like the willingness to go up and fight big hitters like Maidana and Porter. My problem is all the BS out of the ring that is keeping him from being a crossover star that boxing could use right now.Comment

so how many vacant belts did manny pacquiao win??? How many other hall of famers have vacant belts??? I dont think we want to go down that path lol.......true, but you can't look at this in a vacuum, context matters.

he has crossed over for sure into the reality show and hip hop markets.... Thats why his fights average a million viewers....... Not many fighters these days draw a million eye balls on tv..... Maybe 5 fighters in america could draw those numbers and broner is one of them.... But you are right he is very undisciplined and takes it too far sometimes...... He is a spoiled brat for surei agree broner has a point. My problem is he did it to himself. I like the bragging and boasting. Personally, I think he's really special. Problem is, he's dumb as a stump. He needs a trainer, or a manager, to keep him dedicated and ****. He needs a trainer who can actually give sound tactical advice and such.i dont see any special talent in him to be honest..... He is above average at best and has taken it pretty far...... But to don the heel persona, you need to be able to back it up. He unfortunately can't.Comment

usually the great ones have really strict and obsessive fathers..... Floyd's dad was really hard on him.... Broners dad seems like a really nice guy compared to floyd sr lol.... Im sure that has something to do with broner not being the most disciplined...... Broner is the first one in his family to make big money so he runs the show.... In floyds life his dad and uncles ran the show and they were all champions..... Thats why floyd is so special in the ring because of what he grew up watching in the gym.... Just like kobe watching has dad from an early age play in the nba..... Just my theory....LOMACHENKO IS ANOTHER ONE WITH A VERY STRICT DAD.....personally, i think he's really special. Problem is, he's dumb as a stump. He needs a trainer, or a manager, to keep him dedicated and ****. He needs a trainer who can actually give sound tactical advice and such.
