Yeah, I would tend to think that Joe Rogan is not that up to speed about what's going on in the boxing game right now because he's so entrenched into MMA, but what he said about Meldrick Taylor (never being the same after that knockout) and about Larry Holmes is about as accurate as you can get. Maybe that's when he was watching boxing.
