Leo also faced the legendary Pascual Perez for the World Flyweight Championship but lost by 15 round UD.

Dodie Boy Penalosa who was the first IBF Light Flyweight king and later became the IBF Flyweight champ is the oldest brother of Gerry Penalosa who once reigned as WBC Super Flyweight champ.
