However, isn't it an awful thing to lie, and say that "the guy wants $7 million," "the guy is trying to price himself out of the fight, etc." when the guy was NOT presented any offer to fight Pacquiao! Why must Crawford's credibility be destroyed to enhance Pacquiao's credibility?

I wouldn't be mad at Manny for not wanting to fight Crawford at this point in his career, just like I'm not mad at Floyd for not wanting to fight GGG. I'm just pissed that someone at Top Rank is trying to discredit Crawford to make it appear that it is he who is ducking Pacquiao! Why is that necessary? Same when we had the "fake contract" scandal with Mayweather. It could be easier to say "we are still under negotiations" rather than say "Floyd is scare to sign the contract." I think Floyd not wanting to fight GGG is totally different from Manny not wanting Crawford. Floyd is a welterweight not wanting to fight a middleweight. Manny is a welterweight, who claims he's a jr welterweight. Not wanting to fight a jr welterweight. Plus, Floyd made it pretty clear after the Manny fight that he wasn't interested in fighting anymore. The Berto fight was nothing more than fulfilling a contractual obligation. Manny is basically trying to bull**** into buying ****ty matchups under the illusion that he still has an interest in fighting top level competition. What Manny is doing is almost as bad as Floyd coming out and fighting Connor McGregor.Comment

He could say that he wants his last fights to be international fights like Horn and Khan. The statements coming from Team Pacquiao, as usual, creates as many haters, as it does fans! I don't think Manny is scared of Crawford. Manny has lost before and is prepared to lose again......for the right price of $20 million guaranteed plus PPV percentage.
This situation is not that complex if you aren't biased. Roach talking about how much money Crawford wants is hilariously ******. Absolutely no reason to believe a trainer in regards to the financials of a boxer that he isn't even affiliated with. That's laughable. In this potential match, the only money that has been credibly broadcast is Pacquiao's "advisor", Koncz, being on record saying $20 million guaranteed. Now do the math, Pacquiao's purse for Vargas was $4 million but he wants 5 times that much to face a Jr Welterweight at 147. Hmmmmm????
Crawford has no reason to accept the $2.8 million purse that Vargas accepted because Team Pacquiao (and HBO) just told him he's worth more than Vargas.Comment
