I hate when they do this really want to see both cards but probably gonna end up having to watch the Vargas fight after on replay.

Both are good cards, but Showtime has the more meaningful fights. The HBO card looks like it's trying to set up the Vargas-Miura rematch. I wonder where that leaves Salido.

Haymon still has a lot of control over showtime dates. Since pbc began, it is very apparent that haymon puts cards on showtime to compete/sabotage with hbo shows and makes sure there are no shows that interfere with his pbc shows. Espinoza needs to show some balls and tell haymon that he wants his Saturday nights without going against hbo. This, among other things, has killed showtime's ratings

It's crazy that HBO rarely puts on boxing and they decide to go against showtime

Doesn't HBO usually get the higher ratings? Why Showtime trying to compete?

              Of course they are.
I'm so sick of these network/promoters beefs.
We sometimes go weeks and weeks with no boxing and then suddenly both networks put on a card at the same time.

... the Showtime date was set well in advance of any mention of the fight that's being put on HBO.

                  nice try, though

HBO is available in significantly more homes, full stop (36.5m homes have HBO, while 28.7m homes have Showtime; as of July 2015); being 25% larger, by default, would impact whatever viewership numbers.

Beyond that, Showtime had the date first.
