I can agree that Angulo and Berto were on the downside of their careers, but Khan still had mileage. I really didn't like how he tried to convert Angulo into more of a boxer style. To me that actually hurt him. Those guys got their biggest fights with Virg due to Haymon, not coaching. Khan looked shaky vs Diaz, but good vs Alexander, then shaky again vs Algeri.I agree with you, I don't think Jacobs plans to change everything for the GGG fight. The most important thing he can do is develop a few attack plans and work to hone them...sticking to the game plan is a must.
Regarding Hunter, that's not a fair assessment of him. The fighters you named were on the downside of their careers when they got to Hunter. He's not a miracle worker but under his tutelage Berto and Khan got their biggest fights and extended their careers. Hell if Khan wasn't such a mental case in the ring he might have made it to the a decision against Canelo.
Virgil's also currently training Peter Quillin, so I imagine he could be in Jacob's camp, also Fonfara is there as well. Demetrius Andrade worked with Hunter for a short while, but left for who knows what reason. I watched Brandon Gonzalez under Hunter, but that kid might never have had the pedigree to perform at the top.
I could possibly see him maybe tightening up some things for Danny, but mostly giving him renewed focus being a new voice in camp. But overall I see Virgil being overrated.Comment

Of course you can go by what a guy does in the past. How do you think odds makers come up with the line on a fight? Sure the favorites lose sometime (but not that often) because in sports, anything can happen. You can't go by what happened in the past.
Sports does not work like that sir....no sport.
Especially boxing.
Remember Doug DeWitt???
He took EVEYTHING Hearns had....then got KTFO by a guy that couldn't knock over a box of girl scout cookies.
If you think GGG walks through Jacobs there must be another Golovking out there......and your watching the wrong one.
That being said, Golovkin will be the favorite and the smart money will be on him.Comment

That's interesting stuff and all, but with regards to your last question, how much do you really think it matters? Training camps are training camps, who a team brings in to train with a football team during training camp isn't going to determine whether that team makes the super bowl...Comment

If he could borrow James hardens beard for padding he would have all the bases coveredComment

The only constant in this universe is change, and people need to understand that Danny Jacobs has to change! I have stated this before, the man needs to learn how to move! and his strength and conditioning coach needs to be strengthening his core big time! otherwise he will be taken into deep waters and drowned.....
The question is, whether or not this training camp! is enough time for him to work on his weaknesses.
Time will tell....Comment
