  • Comments Thread For: Roach Might Train Chavez for Canelo, But Would Have Short Leash

Freddie Roach is willing to train Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. for a big fight against Canelo Alvarez. Chavez's on-again, off-again trainer has made the stipulations for a potential reunion very clear, however, to the enigmatic Mexican fighter's legendary father.

Man I would hope Chavez is currently still in shape from his last fight and in the gym everyday sharpening his skills. He's neglected his abilities so badly over the years that a 12 week training camp won't be enough, especially if he's spending alot of that time focusing on weight.

He needs Roach and he needs Memo 24/7 starting now!

Short leash, a monitored ankle bracelet, and throw in a pad lock for the refrigerator and he'll be golden.

ODLH vs. Mayweather, Khan vs. Garcia, Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, Cotto vs. Canelo, Postol vs. Crawford, Lebedev vs. Gassiev.

oh yeah cause freddie the joke coach roach is going to make such a difference isnt he. Not being harsh, but the man cant even think straight now, has serious health issues. Hows he meant to be able to plan tactics for a fighter?

Don't like either fighter but because of what's at stake i actually think chavez jr will train hard.he's knows that if he beats alvared then that would be the talk in mexico forever.

Forget it then, no point having short term type of trainer If you're gonna be fighting Canelo you need someone there 24/7 to prepare you for this maybe Virgil Hunter would welcome Chavez Jr with open arms but not sure he'd be a good fit...
Robert Garcia could be a good match for him (language, understanding of his fight style) afterall he did wonders for Maidana.

Wild Card is a tough gym, Chavez is too much of a bum to hang.

he needs to just retire and fade away into obscurity. *** him he's had enough chances.
