Regardless of who you have winning, any sane fan has to at least credit Ward's heart and effort to turn the fight around like he did. This was the first real adversity he faced since reaching this level and probably in his entire career. Ward did not cower before the task, he didn't run and decide he was content just to survive. He didn't just fold and go away. He kept battling, found something that worked, and made a good run late in the fight. Enough to take a one-sided first half and have an argument for winning.

The man deserves credit for that effort, even if you think he lost. He should be proud of himself.

I think all Eastern European and Russian fighters should ban together in protest and vow not to fight in the USA, or on HBO, or on Showtime, or on ESPN, for at least a year! That will show them DAMN YANKEES! What will they do without Kovalev, Golovkin, and Lomachenko!

And go back to the Russian chicken circuit where PEDS is practically legal and no one really knows them outside their 1 mile hometown radius, and where they fight for 2 rubles per contest ? Think again.

It was hilarious watching Kov attempting to promote his Chilemba in his home town, running around by himself with no one following him but the HBO camera crew. Now that was some priceless entertainment !
