Comments Thread For: Cotto Could Fight "Two, Three" Times in 2017, Last Year in Boxing

NEW YORK Miguel Cotto didn't fight once in 2016. The four-division champion wants to make up for that inactivity this year. The Puerto Rican icon said Wednesday during a question-and-answer session in Manhattan that he wants his February 25 fight against James Kirkland to be the first of "two, three" fights in 2017, but wouldn't speculate on potential opponents if he defeats Kirkland in their HBO Pay-Per-View main event in Frisco, Texas.

I'm sure he is just trying to angle for a Canelo or Mayweather rematch, and that's it. One last big payday, although he's kind of getting that regardless due to his RN contract.

Canelo could have 2 big PPVs in 2017. Chavez Jr. on Cinco de Mayo weekend and Cotto II on Mexican Independence Day weekend.

One of the greatest of this era. Just below MP and FM. Always took the biggest risks and gave us tons of good fights. It's gonna be sad the day he retires. I hope he will win his last fights.
