if it was worthy of PPV you wouldn't have to explain it.

NEW YORK Michael Yormark has heard and read all the criticism. Roc Nation's president and chief of branding and strategy still firmly believes the Miguel Cotto-James Kirkland junior middleweight match, scheduled for February 25 in Frisco, Texas, belongs on pay-per-view. Puerto Rico's Cotto (40-5, 33 KOs) will end a 15-month layoff when he enters the ring to fight Kirkland (32-2, 28 KOs), who won't have fought for 21 months by the time they square off.

i think if the price was 29.99 it would still produce bad numbers. I really don't know the market they are after? Casuals would presume both are retired and hard core fans are not gullible enough to spend $60 on this irrelevant match up, a has been vs a never was is not PPV worthy. The braintrust at TR/GBP/PBC/RNS should devise a platform comparable to the UK Box Nation, offer a subscription between $15-20 a month and show live cards every Friday and Saturday, ratings on all networks just keep getting lower and lower, this has become a niche sport in North America, TV sports like hockey, poker, and rodeo have bigger followings..it seems the only people who do not know this information are the promoters.Comment

Then there's the non-HD feed for $50. They're doable. Some issues I have w/this show is that a little over 3 weeks later, GGG/Jacobs is going to cost coin. If we don't pay for Cotto/Kirkland we're forced to wait 3 weeks for HBO to replay it on March 18th. You think those guys were smart enough to think fans might buy Cotto because the replay was three weeks out? Regardless, for $50 I'm out.
'Trash' is a little harsh, but $60 is not reasonable for this show. I'll happily pay for a good matchup and would have rather paid $60 to see Williams/Charlo than this fight. I think it will provide good entertainment, but unless you're a hardcore with $$ to blow then 60 is nuts.Comment

Is it BS though? What if they whacked the price down to like a Juanma vs whoever fight? Maybe $29.99. I'd grab it then for sure, wouldn't you? However, Rigo is on the card so...
