Theres been a lot of buzz in the 130-135lb divisions with big names like Lomencheko and Mikey Garcia. I also hear about who they want to fight and who fans want them to fight but I never hear Robert Easter Jr.

That's cause he's no joke! Patience my brother they'll be mentioning him soon...

Yeah I know, but thats petty man. Boxers nowadays always looking for the lowest hanging fruit. Easter is going to have a tough career. He will get the same disregard at 140 due to his height and length.
Good question. I'd like to think that's an easy fight to make between him and Mikey...after Mikey grabs a belt, I assume there'll be talks of unifying. Linares is tied up with Crolla again. It'd be good to see Flanagan-Beltran happen also.

Because he's a 6' tall, good punching, young lightweight champion, who's still likely another 2-3 years away from his physical peak. The situation is a bit different, but no one had **** to say about Paul Williams because they knew what that would get them.
Easter Jr is going to have his first title defense in his home town (if that fight does monster business, some folks may get a bit braver).
Terry Flanagan isn't going to say ****, Oscar De La Hoya won't even side-mention Easter's name for Linares, Eddie Hearn is unlikely to immediately look that way if Crolla gets the win, and I'm not sure that Mikey Garcia will make that his first priority either.
Dejan Zlaticanin (fighting Mikey Garcia for that WBC belt, with Linares having the first option if he wants the fight) may make the move (if Easter Jr draws well in his hometown defense) but that'd be only because Zlaticanin doesn't really draw anywhere on his own.

He's positioned well enough to not have to really have that worry, tbh. Being with Haymon/About Billions basically guarantees that he'll get TV opportunities as long as he continues to perform.
You add that the IBF/WBC/WBA do a pretty decent job of enforcing their mandatories, and Easter Jr is going to get his opportunities.
I like him. Its a little unfortunate that his first title defense is against an absolute bum...it really shouldn't be sanctioned. But his mandatory is that little animal Dennis Shafikov, which will be a must-see fight.
