The mentality of the OP. "This is a big fight, so it should be on PPV!"

Right... people here in the states hardly know either, and putting it PPV doesn't automatically increase their notoriety. If Haymon wants even less viewers than Showtime will get, putting on PPV would be the way to go.

Oh they're promoting it alright. Might get 5,000 people to show up.

Ppv lol. Ts is not strong on common sense. They can barely get 300k viewers on regular Showtime

Where are the UK ****s at? Mc,Lovin, bigdramashow - Is it on Sky ppv?
sky have got it i think, pretty sure its not ppv. Havent heard much about the fight at all really, considering its basically #1 v #2 in a division

              you're a clown, son.
Great point. The bold isn't smart at all. If anything, we should be moving away from PPVs completely. None of the current boxers is PPV-worthy, that includes Canelo and his mismatches.

              What's boxing coming to?

PPV is not about quality of the match up. Its purely financial. Even in the UK this wouldnt be PPV because Degale isnt that popular over here

Big fight, but neither guy really has all that dynamic a persona; you add that James Degale (in a blessing and a curse) hasn't had the opportunity to really build up his profile on the ground in the UK, and the fight is about where it should be, tbh.

Now, the winner of the fight is going to be in an interesting position. If Badou Jack wins, Mayweather Promotions has their hands on arguably the best 168lb fighter on the planet, and Floyd Mayweather has someone he can push really hard in Las Vegas for (Callum Smith will head to Las Vegas for his mandatory defense, George Groves will likely head to Vegas if he were to get his hands on that WBA 168lb belt, Badou Jack at 175lbs would be fighting out of Las Vegas, etc). If James Degale wins, he heads home to the UK for the Callum Smith defense, likely stays in the UK for the possible George Groves rematch, and likely becomes a Sky Box Office fighter (with Showtime carrying the fights in the US).

Why would you want to be forced to pay for a fight? I subscribe to Showtime as part of my cable tv package, and I'm glad to have a lot of good fights on tv. I hope the PPV model dies completely to be honest and every fight goes to free or subscription tv because I already pay for cable tv and get nearly every channel.
