2016 Olympic bronze medal winner Misael 'Chino' Rodriguez will be managed by three division world champion Abner Mares. Rodriguez of Mexico won bronze in the middleweight ranks in Rio. He is going to be trained by veteran coach Robert Garcia and his pro debut is expected to take place in March. He made recent headlines after signing a promotional agreement with Ringstar Sports, which is the new company created by former Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer.

He was lucky to even get a medal, he isn't really good at all and was lucky that he had a bye and a controversial decision in the quarters, in the other side, Melekuziev put one of the best performances in the games when he beat Rodriguez.

Lucky? Rodriguez won clearly vs that fighter of Egypt. He did a good job.

Rodriguez is a good prospect, yep he is ordinary and is not in the same level of Valdez or Velazquez but he is good, he is slow but have a good shot to the body, great power and a good timing.

He has a friendly style so he can do good things.

Rodriguez is a good prospec in the sense that:
He can be promoted like an olympic medalist and no one would care if his draw was easy or if he had controversial wins (like Joshua).
He can bring exciting fights to the game.
But that's it, he was lucky that O'Reilly failed his test, and yes, i know it wasn't Rodriguez fault, but there are levels to this and he was one of the weakest medalists in the tournament.

Yep, I agree with you, he is good but not special, I hace hope in Joselito Velazquez, that kid has talent.

Velasquez is really good, i thought he deserved the w over Dusmatov, but at the end Dusmatov ended with a great tournament, he fought plenty of times against my countryman David Jimenez.
