Apparently Jezreel Corrales doesn't even want to think of Lomachenko, at least not next, according to his handler.

They seem to want an easier fight next after fighting Uchiyama twice in a row.

These guys are just going to be a pain to deal with.
It looks like Lomachenko will have no choice but to fight Gamboa next. Hopefully they can get someone like Sosa, but Sosa may also be busy with Fortuna.
They need to figure something out with Salido. Vargas and Miura seem to want to fight each other again and kind of mutually agreed to a rematch if they win their next fight. That would leave Salido to wait until at least late this year.
Lets say Vargas and Miura do in fact win and fight each other afterwards. Well, if it's a brutal fight then they will probably take the rest of the year off, so Salido may not end up facing the winner until next year.
I have no idea what Salido really wants to do. Is he really going to wait that long? Or it just a ploy to get even more money?

If it has to be Gamboa, next, then I would take it at that point. Lomachenko just needs to stay active. Four fights this year, hopefully. March, June, September, and December.

And Manny Pacquiao chickened out of the Terence Crawford match.

That's the current state of affairs over at Top Rank.

Loma is a special talent for sure but fans will enjoy the Vargas rematch way more.
Stop calling these ex-Soviet fighters "special talents", that's ****ing makes me ANGRY, if you're against it you're supposed to be against it 100%. If you hate then hate. Don't give them no ****ing credit for anything, we're all know you're supposed to be against us
It's like we're on the opposite sides of the barricade but all of the sudden you're giving a little bit of credit, that doesn't make no ****ing sense

Salido making some right moves here, nothing about it suggests he's a chicken, just looking out for himself. The guy had to drive for uber ffs, **** what Arum thinks

I don't even like the guy, I think he's a dirty muther***er, but at the same time I have a lot of respect for him getting in there with everyone and always coming to fight. If he's going after the money now, he's earned that right and doesn't need to be shamed for it.

                Well said Redd.

For me, there is a distinct difference between ducking and avoiding. He gets a pass avoiding this fight for now.

Doubt he gets anything meaningful in March. I think he'll only fight three times this year too the way things are looking. What you think about a move up to 135? just the way his career been going a tune up or two at 135 and hopefully can get a shot at one of the champs at the end of the year. It set up nice for a mikey fight later next year too.

I say forget salido, he is playing diva, it is popular these days among mexican boxers.
Get gamboa, than move to 135 and aim for m.garcia, who is too making noise rigth now about having zlatanic next. Wonder what he will pool off when Loma will be at his door

It is fascinating how posters see similar actions so differently based on how its framed by the promoter. Manny and Salido appeared to have made the same decision-not taking a fight they could lose in order to take another fight they have a better chance of winning to preserve their long term options. Yet posters judge the actions differently.
