Because the wrong results make the sport lose credibility.

It's the same reason I b1tch and moan about the poor reffing in the NBA. Is it going to change the score after the game is over? Of course not, but maybe with enough voices something is done about it.

When robberies etc happen it's bad for the sport period. This isn't the 1940's, the mob shouldn't be moving the big fights anymore, there is more legality and transparency now - there should be unbiased and consistent scoring, purse management, etc.
