Comments Thread For: Carl Froch: We Need Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury in 2017

Retired former world champion Carl Froch is hoping that we get a heavyweight showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury in 2017. In November 2015, Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) pulled off what many thought was impossible by traveling to Germany to outbox Wladimir Klitschko to win a twelve round unanimous decision to capture the IBO, IBF, WBA, WBO heavyweight titles. It was Klitschko's first loss in over a decade.

Would rather see Joshua-Wilder in 2017. Make Fury-Ortiz, Joshua-Wilder, then winners fight.

            Haye vs Fury vs Joshua

Any mix of those three is a guaranteed money maker.

Could be huge for british boxing

Klitchko, Fury then finish the year with Wilder.

This is how i want Joshuas year to play out.

If we get two of those i'd still be happy.

Yea, I've already heard he was "back in training this week" twice, and they were a month apart. I can imagine a lot of false starts and maybe he doesn't come back at all.

If he does, I don't think he'll be the same. His confidence was a guy factor in how far he got, IMO. If he cracked from public criticism (as it's claimed) then his confidence is cracked. If he goes right back in against a top-10 fighter this year, I think he'll struggle. I imagine he takes a tune-up, then maybe Joshua in 2018.

Not so fast- Joshua has a serious problem in front of him in April.

Wlad beats AJ but in any case boxing doesn't need redneck Fury back in the ring. Brainless Fury is a disgrace for our sport.
