I don't have a problem with the Brook-Khan fight. But if that's what Brook wants to do he needs to stop holding onto the belt. It's obvious Hearn doesn't want the fight. He'll negotiate with everyone but Spence. Just give up the belt so the rest of the division can move onComment

This..........period. Kell should just come out and say hey i wanna vacate and fight khan because i'm gonna make wayyyyyyyy more money.....it's business simple as that....I don't have a problem with the Brook-Khan fight. But if that's what Brook wants to do he needs to stop holding onto the belt. It's obvious Hearn doesn't want the fight. He'll negotiate with everyone but Spence. Just give up the belt so the rest of the division can move onComment

"If we stay at welterweight" is the key phrase. Eddie wants the Khan fight as Kells next fight. I can see him taking the Cotto fight at 153/2 in the summer then Khan at 147 in the fall/winter. Who else is Cotto going to fight if he aint' getting the Canelo fight?Comment

A loss to Spence does not kill the Khan fight IMO. It's been year's in the making, Khan has taken some bad losses and it's still "on". It'll sell just off of the UK people wanting them to get it over with. Like a poverty version of Mayweather-Pacquiao.Hearn doesn't want the fight. Kell would fight Spence for the right money from Hearn. A loss to Spence would kill the Khan fight and that's the money fight. Spence doesn't care if he fights Kell or Horn as long as he fights for the belt. And luckily the IBF follows their rules and will force the fight or force the vacateComment

Vacate the title. Spence is a better fighter than that Bum Vargas, but he still not yet a world champion.Comment

Hearn won't be pushed into making a quick decision especially now that the lucrative Khan fight is on the table. He'll take his time. This is a guy notorious for canceling already negotiated fights without advanced notice. So enjoy your long vacation Spence. Stay sharp bud.Comment

There's more to it than that. When Wlad & Fury fought, the IBF mandatory was already overdue. Since Fury was WBA & WBO mandatory, the IBF allowed an optional defense of their title even though the mandatory was overdue on the condition that the winner would fight the mandatory next.
Wlad & Fury hid their rematch clause from the IBF to trick the IBF into sanctioning their fight.
Brook already fought his mandatory earlier this year. The timeline is nowhere near what it was in the Glazkov situation.Comment
