Chaves is a mid range fighter and he was only up a round against Rios with like a round or two left. Imo, post Alvarado and Pacquiao, Rios wasn't a good fighter. Chaves does shoulder roll and comeback with the occasional counter, but to date none of that has gotten him a victory over a single elite level opponent. Danny has underrated defense for a fighter that typically comes forward. When he lets his hands go he's very adept at throwing unorthodox combinations. He's also one of the best body punchers in the sport and may be the best counter puncher outside of Canelo. He doesn't win, because of toughness or flukes, he's actually skilled. Thurman had a tough man competition against Porter that he won. In this fight, he will lose and it'll be because of skill.

He didn't have him ready to go or anything like that but yeah he was feeling the Chaves power and started "run time". He was closer to going in the Porter fight when the pace of the fight and porter's style were getting to him after the 8th or 9th.Chaves broke his nose in the 3rd round and Thurman made an adjustment, he started using his legs to circle Chaves and find angles, this decreased Chaves' accuracy. Thurman showed great versatility and decision making, being able to make adjustments like that is a strength. Chaves is a very sharp counter puncher with short arms, solid power and timing. I'm sure Thurman felt his power and that's why he stopped being overly aggressive. He was never 'visibly' hurt though, that's a different thing entirely.Comment

I don't know about this one. Thurman has faced some tough competition and prevailed decisively. Garcia is a slick and talented fighter but I can't forget that Herrara fight which he clearly lost and was gifted the decision. Venue might favor Garcia a bit so Thurman better be convincing if he wants to take it.Comment
