Lomachenko certainly had fighter of the year performances. The only reason I have Gonzalez and Frampton close is because of meaningful wins, albeit in less impressive fashion. I've gone back and forth on this, but Lomachenko is the only one that left me in awe. I wouldn't be impressed if it were against any insignificant opponent. I may not argue against Gonzalez snagging the BWAA award, but Loma looked exceptional against good quality guys.

Hell yes The Africutioner v.3 earned it. Too bad hes not a GBP fighter and instead will end up wasting his talent fighting trilogies with garbage men and security guards signed to 18 month Top Rank contracts.

Why you gotta call him the Africutioner? That just entrenches and encourages all the black racists who already hate white fighters and apologize for ducking. But then they get to say "see white fans really are racist after all so I get to be too." When that's bull**** because you don't see white fans drooling all over the Klitshckos or Chris Algieri or any other boring fighter, but the black racist fans do that all the time. So it's definitely not equivalent but when you make comments like that, they can cherry pick your comment and create a false equivalence that justifies their own bias.

Barrera is a good fighter but he was never in a big fight in his life and never won any titles or big fights. It was a stay busy tune up.
Most people think that kovalev won their fight.
Lomachenko crushed two top rated opponents and absolutely embarrased them and made walters quit.

was Walters in the top five Pound for Pound list ?? did Walters have a boogeyman reputation of being feared and avoided? ok then.. Ward's win over Kovalev alone makes him FOTY because it's more impressive than anything Loma did. .he climbed a new division and conquered it in one damn year. respect that man.

Andre Ward is the FOTY.. hands down. .wins over Sullivan Barrera and Sergey Kovalev is enough for me. Barrera proved he's no "bum" in his last fight. .Kovalev was the boogeyman that had the whole division shook, so damn scary he was people said Ward would never face him. .

Lomachenko's win against Walters is impressive but Walters wasn't on nobody's Pound for Pound list, he was no boogeyman like Kovalev. .

Ward beat the breaks off that boy, gave him that inside work and took all his belts.

Andre Ward = 2016 FOTY.

If Ward would have REALY beaten Kovalev than he would have won that FOTY for sure. But to manny people believed he lost that fight.
