Exactly. Golden Boy knows this, which is why they are trying to make the fight.

Chavez jr is not a world class fighter. Canelo is. Canelo would beat him easily.

The reason Chavez wants more money is that he knows he will lose a couple millions at the weigh in. If he gets 6 millions, he will be down to 3! cause HE WILL show up at 168.

It depends, Canelo would make the weight for the fight easily and he is quite explosive in his punching but Chavez Jr has a durable chin it really just does depend on what version of Chavez Jr we get if he is fit and healthy and back to his old self the version that fought Andy Lee or even the one that lost to Martinez he would give a lot of problems to Canelo mainly down to the styles.

Canelo can't box and move he won't be able to do it against Chavez Jr and Chavez Jr best likes fighting at close range, throwing lots of punches round by round hmmm...
It's an intriguing match up If both come in top shape that's for sure.

Khan didn't get demolished primarily because of size but because of skill. The weight difference on fight night will likely be between 10-15 pounds but Chavez won't be in peak shape whereas Canelo will. I doubt Chavez Jr can walk through Canelo. Chavez Jr is going to take a sustained beating.

Yea exactly... And Chavez is at a weight division he doesn't belong in... 165.

If he does make the weight then balloons up that doesn't necessarily mean he is in a healthy shape.

You're showing your lack of knowledge.

Your example of Monzon vs Napoles is also horrible. This is nothing like it. Monzon was not draining himself to fight Napoles but in this case Chavez WILL be draining himself to make 165. He will be weakened. So, Canelo jumping up in weight is irrelevant.

I don't understand that line of thinking. If GBP doesn't think Chavez Jr can make 165 why waste their time and money when Chavez comes in overweight and the fight is cancelled? No way they allow Canelo to fight Chavez Jr if he weighs in 167 or more. GBP is risking a lot to make this fight. It's a dumb risk imo

if chavez isnt weight drained then i agree, i think this could be a cherry pick gone wrong. Canelo is used to fighting fighters who are signifcantly smaller than him.
