Well, they know what they have to work on. There is a good fighter hiding inside Ruiz and even a slightly better version would've been enough to beat Parker. I haven't given up on Ruiz quite yet.

Ruiz looked impressive despite being a fleshy mess. Lose the fat, pack on muscle and come back stronger.

How did he look impressive? He was tentative, didn't do any damage with his shots, and had no plan B when he couldn't deal with Parker's jab and range.

The fight was up for grabs and he disappointed.

I hope Ruiz continues his conditioning efforts though. Hand speed is still there, but..he needs to find a way to turn that into power. He had pillow hands in the Parker fight.

Impressive for a fat guy, I assumed Parker was going KO him easy.

Fair enough. There's no way a guy that looks like him should be a decent fighter, but alas, he is.

BTW, that bird in your sig - winning.

Ruiz clearly beat Parker. It wasn't even close. Ruiz was robbed.

I really hope he takes training serious going forward because Ruiz has a lot of potential if focused.

Well, we live in an era where all close fights become a ''robbery'' one way or the other, so why not say Ruiz was robbed. I would agree with you had Ruiz kept his work rate up in every round, but just plodding forward for periods and not throwing much simply won't cut it when you're that far away from home. It was Ruiz that threw it away.
Fear not, the 2nd coming of Andy Ruiz Jr will shock the world - probably at light-heavyweight.
