  • Comments Thread For: Khan: Kell Brook Fight is Biggest in British Boxing, Now It's Close!

Former world champion Amir Khan (31-4, 19KOs) believes a potential fight with IBF welterweight beltholder Kell Brook (36-1, 25KOs) is finally close to coming together. Brook has been chasing the fight for several years, but Khan had little to no interest in the fight. After both boxers suffered stoppage wins by moving up in weight to take dangerous fights in 2016.

Brook might beat Khan into retirement.

At least Khan can say "I'm focusing on my TV career" afterwards. Even though we all know it's because he's going to be shattered into a million pieces.

Britain is now the hot spot for boxing not USA its time our British boxers stop with this fairy tale that fighting in America means you've made it.
More cash in Britain and better fans.

Khan with Roach wins this fight. I don't see Brook living with that speed or ferocity. Fast forward to now, I put it 60/40 Brook

A big money fight for both, but interesting from a lot of perspectives.

Can maybe understand Khan's perspective if he's given up on getting a fight with Pac, but hard to understand why Brook would give up his belt.

If at 147, would the winner carry Khan's mandatory challenger slot that Khan has been told is 'under consideration' depending on how his 'tune-up' goes ? Presumably if Khan wins he gets to keep his mando slot, but what if he loses ? Why would Brook trade in a belt for a mando slot ? (or nothing if he lost). It would widely be viewed as ducking Spence.
