He's one of the best young American prospects at the moment.

Might want to keep an eye on him before he makes it big.

That would be a good one! I think Lubin has to step it up this year! Maybe he should fight someone like Vanes Martirosyan or Austin Trout early 2017? A nice double-header could be Lubin vs. Trout, and Hurd vs. Martirosyan! Make it happen! Time to see what these young boys got!

No such rising star at PBC. He'll be put on the shelf eventually for a long time. Call them random fighters.

I like watching Erickson Lubin fight. I think he should step up his competition a little bit. I think he's a few fights away from being ready for the top dogs of the division, hopefully by mid to late 2017 he'll be ready. Still has to work on his defense some more, but his offense is impressive.

I'd rather get behind a prospect like Immanuwel Aleem who has the balls to face a DANGEROUS unbeaten prospect, Ievgen Khytrov in his next fight! Lubin has had a soft diet by comparison. http://boxrec.com/boxer/618233

Lubin is 2 years younger and already ranked much higher. Not sure how you determine he has no balls at 21 yrs old

There's no need to rush him into anything, but once he's gotten the needed experience and seasoning, Haymon's going to throw him into the deep pool and see what's what.

Julian Williams is with Al Haymon, Williams and his camp brought him along at their own pace, taking about 4 years with him, but when they all felt he was ready, they stepped out front. Williams had to wait for about a year, but he got his opportunity, and the result was what it was (Williams showed that he can fight on the top level, so he'll be kept in that top mix for as long as he can perform.

Lubin's been a pro fighter for all of 4 years, with just finishing his second year under Haymon. You add that he's opening up 2017 with Jorge Cota (a rugged and tough guy who can fight) and it's pretty clear that Lubin and his camp see this year as being where the steps up really start happening. Vanes, Austin Trout, Ishe Smith, Carson Jones, etc are likely the types of guys being eyed for 2017, before he gets set to take his own shot at the top in 2018.

Whether he sinks/swims will come down to how his ability ends up proving out at the age of 23.

If lubin can manage to do what spence will do at 154 (cant see it now, there's a lot of sharks as of now)which is clean house, you cant deny that it will be a mega fight..
Lubin is much better than spence.

He's got the type of size and physical gifts to dominate the division in a couple years. But he's definitely not ready now. I'd say wait till Andrade and the Charlos move up to 160. Which should be in a year or so.
