I like GGG, but I stopped listening to Sanchez after he told us Mike Tyson didn't dominate the Heavyweight division in the late 80s.

I'm not emotionally invested in Golovkin, nor black and white. Just boxing. So I just take Sanchez' words and think about them a little.

If Sanchez had a pattern of repeating similar words with other fighters a la Roach then maybe you could discount his words as just meaningless or trying to inflate his boxer's profile. But Sanchez is not going around, as far as I know, saying that Gassiev can dominate heavyweight etcetera.

So, Sanchez being around Golovkin for 5 years now I have to think that he has this real confidence in his charge's abilities to keep repeating this 154-168 deal.

But if this is the case why doesn't he communicate this with urgency to Loeffler? So that he can move up. Or take the $10 million from GBP for Canelo and get the MW division done and dusted.

Sanchez first came out with this 154 - 168 stuff back in 2014 - we're entering 2017 now. If Golovkin was 24 and not 34 I could understand the lack of urgency. It's like having a custom-built super car in the garage and the owner says he can wipe the floor with Maseratis Ferraris and 911s but all he does is drive it on the highway - get the damn thing on the racetrack - put up or shut up!

Sept 2017: Canelo to unify 160

December 2017: Jack/Degale winner for two 168 belts

May 2018: Ward or Kovalev, while Gilberto Ramirez collects other 168 belt

Sept 2018: Gilberto Ramirez for final two 168 belts

December 2018 and onwards: mega fights at catch weights for remainder of career. Kovalev, Ward, Stevenson, etc. Maybe Spence is a big name by then fighting as a large 154, and they can meet at 162 or something. Maybe Charlo, Andrade, etc are big names. Get all those fights late 2018 and 2019, maybe 2020 if GGG's still got it, then retire as fully unified champ in two weight classes, with potential wins over P4P fighters like Kovalev, Spence, etc as the cherry on top.

If GGG can do those things, he will start to put up the 1,000,000 PPV buys fights, and more importantly, he will get the credit Abel Sanchez wants even from the haters, finally, and he will go down as perhaps the best middleweight of all time.

I mean, if GGG can fully unify 160 and 168, and beat the likes of Gilberto Ramirez (huge, powerful, fast 168), Kovalev and/or Ward, and Errol Spence, GGG will probably go down as the best middleweight ever, and one of the best fighters ever at any weight. I mean if GGG could actually do that, and retire undefeated with those wins at various weight classes, he would be in conversation for the best fighter of all time. The problem is these big fights take forever to come together and GGG is already getting old. He would have to actually get these names in the ring 3-4 times a year to achieve all that before he slows down way too much.

But, that's what I would shoot for. I think it is actually doable, but they really need to push hard for these legacy fights and call out the duckers. Now that GGG is 35 it might actually be possible to get these guys in the ring, so they should take advantage of that by fighting 3-4 times a year in these legacy fights.
And how was it for you?

Bringing in the casuals? There isn't a more casual friendly fight to be made in all of boxing. Nobody needs to promote that bout just sign the contracts and it sells itself. The highlight reels alone tell you everything you need to know about what the likely outcome will be.

Golovkin should be able to ko Chavez jr, but against Ward, that could be tough, and as for Froch, I don't think he's coming back as he's happily retired at homw with his model wife Rachel.
