Sorry I've been cooped up too long on this 12 hour car ride. Many gloves (Including my Venums from kickboxing days) use foam since it can conform well to your hands. My guess is that it's foam.

It's a mix. I believe it's layers of horse hair (synthetic) and foam. For whatever reason, people mistakenly think of them as being "soft". I got rid of mine because they were too stiff for my liking.

I have a pair of horse hair ones for display and they're pretty uncomfortable compared to my foam ones. I think the mainstream companies lean towards the foam ones.

it has both and depends on what style you have, grant have horse hair glvoes and they have foam gloves.

I would assume foam since he had brittle hands and needed the extra protection. Would also explain how some of his knockout power from earlier in his career disappeared.
