The fact that there isn't a global boxing star today shows that having the ability to be a likeable character or at least a person that can draw fans to the sport, is an ability in itself.
Charisma should be a respected attribute in a boxer.

It is a respected attribute.
That's why guys like ODLH, Fury, Golovkin were/are natural draws.Comment

I only respect boxing skill and ability.
Personality and charisma are nice toppings but without the meat and potatoes of the fight game they are empty calories.Comment

I have always been impressed by DeLa Hoya, i see his amateur fights at 16/17 and everyone, the commentators, attendance and even the other boxers seems to be delighted by him.Comment

Problem with this idea is that charisma is a very personal thing. I think McGreggor is as charming as a dried dog turd, but many would disagree. Was never a fan of Ali's personality. Early Tyson (stoic) had charisma to me. The later Tyson did not. "Charisma" has a lot to do with the audience, culture, etc.Comment

hmm, in terms of how you rate a fighter i dont think charisma should be considered an attribute as such. Obviously though its very beneficial in how a fighters career progresses as they will attract a fan base, or 'haters' (mayweather probably the obvious example) of people tuning into watch them lose.Comment
