          As far as I'm aware the WBA WBC, IBF and maybe WBO don't rank holders of each others belts, unless they've negotiated enough cash to unify. Weird politics at play anyway, but I'm not surprised they'll place fighters straight in where they'd generally be expected to be rated and get their sanctioning fees paid in full more readily.
          If anything it could be seen as a vague push to get Stevenson to raise the profile of the WBC 175 belt seeing as he's pretty much off the radar.
          But yeah, I'm surprised WBC are feeling the need to justify their money grab, usually the sanctioning bodies do so as a matter of course.

                    That's a good one: ''If Kovalev wins the rematch with Ward..." What rematch? The one where the chances of it happening are between 'increasingly unlikely' and 'none'? I'll bet that Kovalev will be fighting more than one t.b.a before he sees Andre's a$$ again.
