Favorite Cotto moment was him getting pummeled into submission by Margarito

Second favorite was him turning up to next fight for a vacant World Title against a nobody with his body covered in tattoos all of a sudden.

Third favorite was him getting KTFO by Pacquiao.

He's basically been a fraud ever since his Pacquiao beating... And that's why i dislike him as a boxer, but respect him as a business man.

There is no reason to dislike Cotto as a boxer, he fought them all, from your favorite moments we can tell you're just a salty Cotto hater

A close look at Cotto's career tends to raise a lot of questions about his standing in the sport. He battered Zab but Zab was a mental midget and Cotto still relied on ball shots to do it. He was brilliant for 7/8 rounds against an aged Mosley, but faded badly down the stretch. Deserved the decision but he just about squeaked it. Got his tactics completely wrong against Margarito who ended the prime of his career.

I think one of his best performances was actually against Floyd. Pedro Diaz was probably a big factor in how right he got his strategy for that fight. On my card he split the first 8 rounds, but again he gassed afterwards.

Cotto has been an entertaining fighter and he has a style that's nice to watch. He also has good wins over lower level guys like Zab, Torres, Quintana etc. And he has good wins against Mosley and Clottey. Since Pac his career has been mostly smoke and mirrors.

There's a lot of truth to that. I think the one fight that sums up the later part of his career is his win against Martinez. A fight that a lot of die hard Cotto fans celebrate, but a clear cherry pick against an aged and injured fighter. Still a great boxer. Far from the best, but still a future HOFer.

He used to be one of my favorite fighters actually, but once he started the whole fake title conning the public is when i lost massive respect for him.

I have 3 fave moments from Cottos career:

                1. Going toe to toe with Pacquiao for 4 rounds and even though his face was getting disfigured, he kept coming.

                2. Out jabbing Mayweather and bloodying him up.

                3. Showing superior movement and hand speed against the much younger Canelo.

However, my favourite FIGHT of Cottos career is against Marg, one of the truly great epics of our time. It's such a shame that so much of Cottos latter career has been filled with him being a diva, a sissy and refusing to fight GGG. I've ended up losing a lot of respect for him.

Yes fighters can have massive respect when losing in huge wars, exactly as you described.

If you ever wanted a better real life example of displaying how a loss can affect a person, look at Cotto before that fight, a mature grown adult with a few kids, not a single tattoo on his body, after the loss he comes back covered in many tattoos and fights an unknown bum.

Well said, If he had something bad with his knee he should have cancelled the fight, no excuses afterwards.

                      Same goes to Martinez.
