Canelo had over 50,000 in attendance for the Smith fight, an opponent most casuals wouldn't know.

Your numbers are comical, you have no idea what you are talking about in terms of how the revenue from a fight is generated. You haven't factored in any costs at all, when it comes to the ppv or (gate) ticket sales. Thus you think its a low offer.

First learn how all the costings work - once you have a grasp of that, then make a thread about it, not before, and certainly not two.

I don't have the time or the inclination to explain it to you. But if you look online there is a lot of reading material on it.

Instead of arguing with everyone here with poor and inaccurate information - research, and learn about the subject. You are only making a fool of yourself to those people that know the numbers, or having pointless debates.

      Or are you a troll?...probably.

Canelo also had 2.2 million viewers for the Kirkland fight on HBO. GGG has never gotten close to that.

According to no one else beyond Tom Loeffler. If you earnestly believe that K2 didn't comp any tickets for the fight (or that they weren't basically giving away tickets with their 2 for $50 deal), the conversation isn't worth having here.

However, GGG isn't a typical "B-side" opponent either.

I think 70/30 is the only real way to go about handling this.
Based on what? Saul Alvarez sold over $5m at the gate for his fight with Liam Smith (an amount that's been openly verified by the state commission).

Golovkin's biggest gate was the rumored $2m that he did at MSG, a figure that's yet to be verified by anyone but Tom Loeffler (meanwhile, Lou DiBella was comfortable enough with numbers to let that get to the public for his cards).

Alvarez is four times the star that Golovkin is, and any split should reflect that. You add that Alvarez is also giving Golovkin 6lbs for the fight (Alvarez could easily demand that the fight be at 154lbs, for the simple fact that he's shown that he has no care for Golovkin's trinkets), and any talk of Golovkin getting 30% "being the only way" is foolish

Golovkin-Lemieux had a $2m gate according to no one else but Tom Loeffler. If you're hanging your hat on Loeffler's word, that's on you

All irrelevant as GBP has not intention of putting Canelo in the ring with GGG anyway
