Comments Thread For: Loeffler: Usyk Walks at 220, Heavyweight Run is Very Possible

Has a good shot, has excellent boxing skills and knows when to turn it up a notch which i wish he does more earlier and often vs taking by round 4 or 5 to choose when to let loose!

lol @ "boxing politics"; it's the cruiserweight division that we're talking about.

Bellew (Eddie Hearn) has the WBC, Gassiev (Warriors Boxing/Haymon) has the IBF, Lebedev (Ryabnisky) has the WBA (for now), and Usyk has the WBO; if the WBA ends up moving against Lebedev, the Shumenov-Dorticos (Caribe Promotions) winner gets the WBA belt.

tickover fight, WBC, IBF, WBA; the time window likely gets pushed into 2018, but it is what it is.

Still, Loeffler probably said too much, as usual; Oleksandr Usyk, based on Loeffler's own words, is basically 30 year old fighter who cuts 20lbs to make weight for his fights.

How much longer do people believe that he can shave that much weight off of his body and still perform great (making weight is what it is, but shaving that much weight off, usually, leaves the fighter with having a hard time having the energy to close out the fight strong)? who knows

"He broke Evander Holyfield's record for the fastest man to win a cruiserweight world title. Usyk did it in his 10th fight, Holyfield did it in his 12th"

Usyk have a great run but not as good as Holyfield

Holyfield turned pro at just 22 and win his first world title 20 months after his pro debut and he defeated a real world champ as Dwight Muhammad Qawi

Usyk has probably more than 200 amateurs fights make 2 olympics then turned pro at practically 27 y/o and win his first world title 34 months after his pro debut by defeating the limited Glowacki

Usyk is already the #1 guy under Heavyweight, if he does decide to move up I see him doing very well there.
