Most Important 2017 Fight
The most important fight of 2017 will definetely be Golovkin vs. Jacobs. There are 3 good reasons why this fight is so extremely important:
1 - Both are hardhitting fighters who don't defend too well. So it will be an explosive and action-packed brawl, whoever the winner turns out to be.
2 - It almost feels unreal, but finally, Golovkin is facing a good opponent. The embarassing days of arguing about Golovkin's weak signature wins (Lemieux, Brook and Murray) are over. Now, if Golovkin beats Jacobs, we will finally have a good signature win for him that we can proudly pronounce: "He defeated Daniel Jacobs". No one will be able to say that Jacobs was a weak opponent.
3 - If Golovkin loses in this first real test of his career, then the entire boxing community will lose their interest in him and find a new white hope to root for. Golovkin is the favourite to win and I expect him to win, but the stakes are high.
No matter what, all of us should thank Golovkin and Jacobs for giving us this amazing fight. I can't wait. Let's respect the winner and not make excuses, as the winner will have elevated his legacy with a new signature win
