I think at this point the Ward fight has sailed and Gennady must challenge himself with the best middleweights available and move on from Ward. He fought the best available opponent in Danny Jacobs and has very good opposition on the horizon. If he is successful against Jacobs, he can have a tune up in the summer before the Canelo showdown. Finally shut up that Eubank Jr in an easy soft touch type fight before Canelo. He would end Eubank inside of 3 rounds so his body wouldn't take a lot of damage and he would still get that fight money. People are in their feelings about me saying Eubank avoided Triple G but if he is offered the fight a second time and doesn't take it then he doesn't want the fight right now period. Billy Joe Saunders will not fight Golovkin under any scenario this summer. September we get the big fight: Canelo-GGG. The winner of that will have intriguing opponents that are current 154 lb champs like the Charlo's and Lara. I have a feeling once Canelo is a true middleweight everyone in and around that weight will be taking fights at 160 or auditioning for fights with him. Canelo coming to this division will also create opportunities for Golovkin besides the obvious head on big fight. Fighters like Charlo and Lara are looking to go through Triple G to get to Canelo if necessary. Jacobs may very well be attempting to do the same thing!
