Are we ever going to see a Bo Jackson in combat sports?

With all of this talk of Conor McGregor getting his boxing license, got me to thinking. Do you ever think we will see someome dominate boxing and UFC or do you think it's impossible? I think if Bo Jackson was able to be great in baseball and football, two totally different sports, then I think it's not out of the realm of possibility to see someone dominate both. What do you think?

It is fascinating to picture a fighter who can excel in both areas at a high level. A true superfighter.

Do you think we'll see it in our lifetime?

I think n the next few yrs its very possible, the young kids growing up are bound to be dabbling in both.

A heavy handed boxer with a good takedown defence and some bjj skills is pretty lethal.

I still think the cream will go with boxing 1st because if the amateur set up, boxing for you country around the world is a big pull.

But if those kids keep up the mma training there could be some huge crossover fights, only a matter of time.

I think if it ever happens, it will be a boxer going to MMA. I think you can be an affective striker and do really well in MMA with the gloves being less padded. The ground game is a different game though.

Think the time has passed, maybe in the early days of the UFC, but the skills only draw further and further apart. Don't think a UFC fighter could ever be a Champion calibre Boxer, and the time has passed where a boxer could be good in UFC

Holly Holm laid the groundwork for how it might be done. An excellent boxer with strong take-down defense.

Bo will probably wait 2 more years when the top guys now are gone and pick a time when the Cains ,lesnars and JDS's are a bit weaker or gone. With them gone the skys the limit for him.
