He's Samoan and they have dreadful genetics for sport.

In 5 years or more he will be fighting obesity. Not world champs. Even aged 24 and training very hard he is struggling to hold off the love handles and pot belly.

Isn't he mixed? He doesn't have the typical features and attributes of many Samoans, not that that can't be explained away by natural variance of course. He isn't super lean, but he doesn't look like the type that'll go to fat either. Compare him to Tua at the same age for instance and there's a big difference in overall thickness and build.

Lol at Samoans having terrible genetics for sport. One of the most bizarre comments I've read on here. If anything Samoans and Polynesians in general are ideally suited to explosive sports.

In any case it's down to the individual. Re: Love handles: Mate there are very few people above 100kg who will be lean enough to not have love handles, and a bit of fat never hurt a heavyweight. This isn't bodybuilding.
