  • Does Mayweather's Impeccable Defence Conceal A Glass Jaw?

Mayweather hardly ever gets hit, his defense is the best in the sport but the few occasions he's been caught with a decent shot he's been wobbled or staggered. Remember Mosley catching Mayweather with just one decent shot and Mayweather had to hold Mosley in order to stay standing. Then there was Hatton who caught Mayweather clean, again with just one shot in the first round, sending him staggering back to the ropes, almost crumpling to the canvas. What about Judah, .. made Mayweather touch the floor with a sharp counter. Maidana caught Mayweather at the end of the round with a well timed counter and Floyd staggered back to his stool on unsteady legs as the bell rang to finish the round.

So what's the deal, does Mayweather have a glass jaw but it's been well protected by his immaculate defense so it very rarely even gets hit. If his defense wasn't so good, is it likely he would have been knocked out on numerous occasions? Or indeed, if he faced someone with the speed to hit him repeatedly, like for example Amir Khan.

Mayweather has an iron jaw man. If he was packing glass he would've gone down vs Mosley, Maidana, Corley etc.

We've seen him weather some hard shots so I don't know how this is really debatable.

if mayweather had a glass jaw, he would have been knocked out considering the opposition he fought. His defence was amazing but no defence is inpenetrable and he got hit with clean shots. That punch maidana landed shook him, but it wasnt far off a mirror image of the shot marquez landed on pacquiao which sent him to sleep. And maidana probably hits harder.

I would say he has a pretty good chin. He took some big shots against those guys mentioned up top but just because he can take a punch doesnt mean he should. His defense is excellent, he made Canelo look foolish when they fought. Cant find the full fight but they have round 7 on youtube, complete schooling

The shots Mosley caught him with would have KO Khan. The shots Corley caught him many time would have KO Khan. I use Khan as an example because he is someone people relates to having a glass.
