Total BS, Why didn't GGG fight Khurtsidze to get that mando spot to fight Saunders before Canelo did? Now, GGG is screwed.

Canelo will take that mando spot, Saunders will cash out his belt and Canelo will keep the WBO belt far away from GGG as possible. Ugh...I think I'm gonna throw up

Because orgs don't rank champs from other orgs, GGG can't be ranked on the WBO, that's just not possible according to orgs rules.

The only way the WBO can fix this mess is to give Saunders 90 days from his last fight, to defend against Canelo! If Canelo decides to fight someone else, then Khurtsidze gets the fight! It's not fair that both Saunders and Canelo get to hold their spots for months/years without fighting their mandatory!

I'm asking in general. Does it make the fight a bigger fight? Would you rather him face regular Canelo in Sept or WBO champion Canelo in May '18?

I could care less it doesn't make Canelo vs GGG any bigger if he has WBO at the time when they fight. or not. But it DOES give Canelo additional leverage against both Chavez and GGG who are trying to shake down more cash when Canelo has already offered both basically double the money they could get from fighting anyone else. Canelo is in charge with options and soon these guys will need to take the offer Canelo is giving them or risk losing/delaying the fight.

I haven't thought about that, I don't know I think GBP should know all the possible options and probable outcomes of their actions, Me honestly I'd take BJS all day over a Chavez fight for that WBO last belt but that Chavez fight would give me huge exposure and huge money, it's a tough one.

Canelo vs. Chavez Jr. on Cinco de Mayo weekend tops any PPV for 2017! You can't make up **** like that! That's a dream come true for GBP! No way do they turn that down for BJS!

Things couldn't get any better for Canelo. Now he has this wbo mandatory option to use as leverage in the Chavez Jr. Fight. If Chavez don't take the offer, Canelo can turn to the wbo title shot and then assuming he wins that fight, he can unify with ggg and make that fight even bigger than it already is. Things looking great for Canelo and his team.

The WBO does that crap, if your a WBO champion at the weight class below they'll make you the mandatory when you move up. They did the same thing for Terrance Crawford when he moved up to 140.

There simply moving money up! Anyone with money behind them will be accommodated by a boxing federation. I know that.
What my comment was aimed at is that a fighter needs to earn his contender spot.
There's nothing wrong with a Champion challenging another Champion but to move a number one spot to Canelo is BS he doesn't need the "token gift" !!!

It's funny how fans used to cry about Don King and Bob Arum and how lil' Oscar was going to make "all" the big matches.
He's worse than they were and the plan their trying to copy is Mayweathers which is the worst possible format for the fans.

They can do it because the fans today a far less informed.
Also sitting on your azzes at home with a ppv isn't putting much effort in compared to live shows and closed circuits.

The shows we used to run at the Hartford Civic Center gave you Duran vs Leonard plus 5 LIVE bouts featuring Marlon Starling and the top local pros fighting each other. Thats a show, not these garbage ppv featuring "no excitement" or any real battles.

Once Alvarez/Chavez becomes official, the WBO will likely mandate Khurtsidze. Saunders has said he's expecting to fight Khurtsidze and then Langford next.

As the WBO champ, BJS would have expensive leverage over Canelo. He can ask for big money b/c the eventual purse split would be unacceptable to Canelo - even a 50/50 split would be unacceptable.

Its starting to sound like a circus event. Canelo can fight Saunders at 160 and Chavez Jr. at 168 but can't fight Golovkin at 160. Make that the 3 of us.
