hometown advantage + all the officials were muricans on Ward's side

despite Kovalev being the champ. it was disgusting

before the fight I was thinking ¨Kova must win by KO, if he wins on points they WILL rob him¨

    I hate being right sometimes
good post. As soon as i saw the judges and ref announced i knew what was going down, did a thread about it myself and i was in the betting thread urging people not to stick money on kovalev.

Sergey Kovalev vs. Andre Ward was a bad decision, but Maurice Hooker vs. Darleys Perez was a disgrace. You can't give Hooker more than 2 rounds in that fight. If you're merciful you may give Hooker 3 rounds, but there is no way he won 5 rounds in that fight. That's how bad it was. Robert Hoyle (who shouldn't be judging fights) scored it 7-3 for Hooker. The problem was that the fight wasn't very high profile, so people will likely end up forgetting about it, but it was easily the worst decision of the year.

Kalajdzic and Browne was a poor decision as well, but that fight was really impacted by the poor reffing. The ref scored a knocked down for Browne when he didn't even land a punch which impact that scoring. He also allowed Browne to hold on for dear life for several rounds without deducting a single point.

Great point. The refereeing was awful. I'd forgotten about that. Hard to win when the ref knocks you down. Haha.

The worst two according to the poll result were on the same fight card, both favoring boxers promoted by Roc Nation and managed by James Prince.

Great example of someone plucking statistics out of thin air.

Marcus Browne vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic has 10 votes LMAO

                  gtfoh.

what's even more ridiculous is Browne does the same thing in his next fight, and the reff says ' he didnt hit him on the ground' when everyone in the world saw it..

just blatant corruption, theres no other way to put it, he should have back to back DQ losses and he has 2 win's and is now in line for a big pay day, and maybe a title eliminator / shot.

                  makes me ****ing sick.

                    Agreed. Corruption is killing boxing.

When some fans say Ward-Kovalev, they are speaking on emotion. Perez-Hooker was actually the worst one. It was BAD, it was frustrating. Ward-Kovalev was a close fight. Even BSLive's scorecard had it for Ward, if you see their scorecards they are always pretty unbiased.
