    Hatton vs Cotto

Who's left at 140lbs for Hatton? No one, unless he fights Castillo or Corrales. I know that Hatton's camp has said they WOULDN'T want to fight Cotto at 147lbs, that they would prefer to fight the sluggish, dehydrated version at 140lbs.

Cotto has at the most 1 more fight at 140lbs after Paulie and that would only be to fight Castillo. Seeing how effective Callazo was standing in the middle of the ring with Hatton in rounds 4-6 I think that Cotto has an excellent shot against Hatton. I also think that Cotto benefits more from the extra 7 pounds than Hatton does. I also dont think that the jump up in weight was that big a factor for Hattons performance against Callazo, I think it was the jump up in caliber of fighter.

I think Cotto is a better boxer than Hatton if he choses to box and would look more fluid and quicker at 147lbs than he has recently looked at 140lbs.

I think Hatton has an excellent shot at winning this also, he is a big guy and has good power and excellent stamina. Cotto is a better match for Hatton stylisticlly also in that he will most likely fight toe to toe with him.

They can become each others Ward/Gatti. But my money would go on Cotto.

Cotto will be much bettre at 147 and destroy Hatton. I dunno about at 140 though, Cotto needs to get the *** oua there.

I think its a pretty even matchup. I think you give Cotto a littile too much credit. 1st off you make it sound like the weight issue is so big for Cotto but I guarantee you that Hatton walks around bigger and has to lose more weight for every fight then Cotto does. Then I think you assume that Cotto wouldve done better last night but I dont. I could see Collazo doing the same thing to Cotto.

Its not like Cotto has been all world latley. Atleast Hatton's problems came against a Champ. Cotto was shook up by Torres. You say that you could see Cotto winning after what Callazo did but Hatton probally feels he could own Cotto after what Torres did. Also, dont forget what happened when Cotto fought a slick south paw in Chop Chop. He almost got KO in his own Country.

This fight is pretty even. Cotto has more skills but I think Hatton may be the better fighter and I would favor him but only slightly. However, for those of you who think Cotto will be so much better at 147, you better think again. Those guys are much bigger up there and they are better fighters. Cotto would look no different then Hatton and maybe even worse. You guys say they are struggling to make weight but your missing the point. The weight is there biggest advantage. They are great at 140 because they are so much bigger then others but at 147 they wont be bigger then anyone, therefore all there strengths will be neturalized.

Going up doesnt just make you better. They will gain from not having to lose all the weight but that wont compare to all the advantages they will lose from fighting smaller guys who arent as talented

Chop-Chop is a much slicker fighter than Callazo. Cotto was also dominating Chop up until that point that Chop landed that great shot, but after that little scare Cotto dominated again. Cotto dominated that fight with the exception of that 1 punch.

Also when it comes to weight:
To say that Hatton loses more weight for fights is misleading. Its that Hatton's life style leads him to blow up more between fights. Cotto doesn't lose as much weight because he doesn't abuse his body as badly as Hatton does, not because he is smaller than Hatton. Anyone with eyes can see that Cotto is at this point in his career a natural welterweight (even Hatton's own camp has admitted this) and thats why they have said that they DONT want to fight Cotto at 147lbs and why they DO want to fight PBF at 147lbs.

Cotto needs to go to 147, and if he fights the CLinchman, it will be a short night ended on cuts or late stoppage. But it will be a great fight

Well good thing Hatton didn't get cut this fight. I hope he doesnt take 7-8months for his next one. Hopefully not getting cut will quicken his turn around time and we can all see who he choses as his next opponent.

This would be an excellent matchup.I don't think it matters if the fight happens at 140 or 147.This could possibly to a barn burner.Cotto has more power but probably doesn't have the work rate of Hatton. If I had to pick a winner I would say Cotto by decision or stopping Hatton on cuts in 10 or less.

Cotto by TKO on cuts or Hatton's team stops the fight...I'll put all my poinst on Cotto if this fight ever happens.
