    Duran's performance against Barkley

What do you think of his performance here? Amazing stuff, Barkley may not have been the better pure boxer, but he was still younger, bigger and stronger and Duran just kept up with him all the way. That knockdown was beautiful.

Duran was in ridiculous condition for this fight. It must have been the best camp he ever had. Crazy punch resistance in the face of those thudding left hooks Barkley has landing. Barkley's bodywork was vicious as well. Somehow in the last three rounds Duran still took over. His skill separated the two of them and Barkley started to fade while Duran got sharper if anything.

Superb fight. One of the fights of the 1980s. And a fantastic atmosphere too. The cards are the only black mark. One of the judges only gave Barkley two rounds.

Legendary fight, a lot of folks back then thought old man Duran was going to get killed that night.

Sugar Leonard didn't think he could do it. Pull up an interview with Angelo Dundee about that fight. If you read between the lines, Dundee implies straight up that Duran is one of the greatest ever, if not the best.
