The worst possible scenario for any boxer is dying in the ring or hospital from injuries sustained from the fight.

Worst possible scenario would be Bernard Hopkins' alien race coming back to get him to safety and nuking the entire planet out of revenge for what Joe Smith Jr did to him.

what... anyway Hopkins jumped out the damn ring, he didn't "fall", he leaped out.

Is that the exact scenario Bernard had nightmares about the night before?

Everyone laughing and mocking him, and him making matters worse for himself by making lame exuses despite there being clear video evidence?

I personally think the fact he fell out of the ring was a blessing in disguise, he can make half hearted excuses while claiming meekly ' he was getting frustrated i was winning'

Imagine if he fell face first pacman style instead ?
yeah it was hilarious, really embarrassing ending for him, literally punched out of the ring into retirement, is a laughing stock now.

But then hopkins wouldnt of had to make up exuses and face the extreme embarrassment and mockery.

Not the worse way to go out, but still pretty bad. It's unfortunate, however, most legends end up going out on their back/with a loss. The ones that don't are the exception rather than the rule. Too bad for Bernard, he ended up being one of them.
