Tbh, was it ever going to end any other way? I thought Bhop would win but something like this was not impossible. At first I thought it WAS A PUSH but the replays are damning to hopkins lol

Like Ali said, "You'll see the launching of a human satellite"

One of those left hands from Smith launched Bhop into retirement
must admit I was briefly concerned for Bhop the way he landed... Looked a heavy fall and he kinda landed on his head!!

Hopkins has been "old" for the last 15 yrs, but this was the very first time it was evident. even when Kovalev was battering him around the ring he looked way more alive than vs Smith..his legs, reflexes and counters are done with..he should've picked a bum for his last fight but he went with the young aggressive hungry champ starving to reach next level.

Bernard Hopkins is a wily old git. He was a throwback fighter and I enjoyed watching his bigger fights.

Neither were prime and they were the smaller fighters moving up.

So was I but the look on his face when he got back up was hilarious and the replay had me cracking up

Weird thing is, Hopkins fought in spurts, still won between 3 and 4 rounds and managed to counter the much younger man. But when he was backing up and not countering, he did look quite old.

It was just a weird one tbh. At no point did Hopkins look like an old Ali or Leonard or Holyfield but at the same time, he didn't look to be himself.

Haha. A combination of the last punch Joe Smith, Jr. hit him with and the rope that was holding him up slipping from behind his back.
