LHW is way more stacked after Barrera and Joe Smith Jr. wins

The division got more interesting after recent Smith/Hopkins and Shabranskyy/Barrera fights, even though I don't think that Joe Smith Jr. will have a bright future in boxing, even Barrera or Gvozdyk whoops him with ease, not even mentioning the elite like Kovalev or Ward

Barrera would stop Smith imo, I think Barrera would beat Stevenson but would lost to only Kovalev and Ward. No wonder Beteriev ducked him

Actually, Barrera, Beterbiev, or Gvozdyk - any of these guys would be dominant in Chad Dawson's era, but nowadays the division is too stacked with strong punchers with good skill set

I think Barrera doesn't have a good chin to become the force to be reckoned with in LHW, but I might be wrong, plus he's 34, but this is boxing so anything is possible, we'll see

Beterbiev became Al Haymon's bodyguard and barely fights anyway

We've all seen how limited Barrera is against Ward. What do you think he accomplishes against Stevenson and Kovalev?

Smiths aptitude in the ring did impress me last night and considering he was the underdog, I don't want to take anything away from him but if he is THAT open against Kov, Stevenson or even Beterbeiv, he gets battered.

LHW is still what it was 2-3 years ago. The Stevenson and Kovalev show.

All fighters looked limited against Ward and Froch looked WAY worse than Barrera against Ward, but that's just my opinion. I've been saying that Barrera is underrated before Shabranskyy fight, he got a pretty good amateur background

Stevenson is aging, so I think it'd be logical to assume that one of fresh hungry prospects like Barrera or Gvozdyk might take the crown sooner or later or the cherry picking will go wrong

That's true, but a fighter with the power like this always have a chance. But I have to agree his skill set is far from being impressive and like I've said I just don't see Joe Smith Jr. having a successful career

I think it's more about Ward and Kovalev now, Stevenson is not on the radar anymore

It's a good division. Barrera vs. Smith next would make sense as they have both just got decent exposure on HBO

I'm hoping that Bivol can get a solid name in the ring with him next year too. He's not quite as skilled as Gvozdyk but he's stronger and less vulnerable imo

be curious to find out the guy hasnt even trained the right way for a fight yet. whether or not he can beat top fighters in their prime is doubtful but he will be one entertaining ass fighter
