This was a different Hopkins. He's been out of the ring for 2 years. Still a good win for Joe Smith but this doesn't change anything about Kovalev's incredible performance that night.

Hopkins really didn't look all that much different than vs Kovalev. Re-watch the fight. That really shouldn't take anything away from Sergey though. I never thought a 50 y/o Hopkins was a noteworthy win. Even narrowly losing to Andre Ward was far greater than dominating Hopkins.
