They are each others "best" opponent! There is no one that can generate the ppv money the way they can with each other! However GGG has said forever he wants to unify the belts and Canelo gave up his belt to avoid the fight initially.
Wanting more money is the right negotiating at this time because the fights with belts on the line are more important to GGG than the current matching with Canelo.
I think the ppv numbers will be the best either could ever accomplish so it will happen but why not let Golden Boy wait just as they let GGG wait after promising the match years ago!

Just a business game and your seeing Oscar at his worst as a promoter who swore the best matches will be made no matter the business complications, sure! HA!

Honestly that's a good retirement check. I would take that in a heartbeat.

Canelo-Chavez will do FAR bigger numbers than a Golovkin fight.

Canelo has other big money options.

They will take it if the believe there's no give on the points question. But GBP are offering a flat fee because they think the points are more valuable, and it's hardly unusual for the B-side to fight that.

            just for context here

Before a single ticket is even printed up, Canelo Promotions/Golden Boy Promotions would need to generate $35m-$40m to simply cover the costs of the event and not have Alvarez see a penny.

Fight nets $6m at JerryLand (Pacquiao-Clottey ended up selling $6.5m at their gate, and I haven't seen a higher number for Texas) and you'd still be looking for $20m-$25m to just break-even.

Assume good international revenues for the fight, and the fight still needs to do ~300k PPV buys (priced @$65) to cover everything and have Alvarez walk away with nothing.

For Alvarez to get his own $15m from then on, he's going to need the event to do another 450k PPV buys.

For Alvarez to get a 2/1 split on the fight, he's looking at needing the event to do 1.2m PPv buys.

and Golovkin's camp and fans are talking about "fair"? lol

I disagree 100%!! He will suffer making 165 let alone any numbers below that limit. Both Canelo and GGG are 170-73 come bell time. Junior will re-hydrate to 180+ after 165 and not be able to maintain any stamina after blowing out 20+ pounds in 36 hours!

Canelo outboxes Junior so does GGG except GGG puts pressure and power on him. Junior will never be brought up in the history of boxing the way Canelo & GGG will be years from now.
Without a size advantage Junior is a below average talent with limited skills. At 175 his power is not evident and he could get
stopped because of his defense liabilities.

Eric Gomez seems to be the clean living guy (so to speak; he's never been caught up in anything ridiculous that's made it to the public)

Hahaha the haters already saying bs. Ggg is ducking LMAO. Wait and see, sftu. Canelo put the date and we have almost a year until the fight.

Golden boy is saying all kind of bs and you buy...

Tom confirmed there was an eight figure offer. We all assumed it was $10mil. Come to find out it's $15 mil. We would've never known there was an 8 figure offer had Oscar not said anything after the Smith fight. Tom sure hadn't said anything about an offer from Golden Boy
