Beterbiev is granted a IBF eliminator fight and Barrera was 9th before his win i'm sure he will climb the ranking and we will see Barrera-Beterbiev in Quebec city since Skoglund will refuse the fight

I thought Shabranskyy might edge this one but he couldn't defend anything tonight, horrible defensive performance. Barrera is a genuine contender but he is a bit slow. Good performance and win from Barrera.

Good win for Barrera, but I won't read too much into it. Styles make fights, and shabranskys poor defense helped negate Barrera's speed issues. To me, he's similar to Luis Ortiz, and not because they're both Cuban. Both are slow, powerful with some nice technique. But that speed disadvantage is what killed Barrera against Ward.

And before someone jumps on my throat saying I'm trying to discredit Ward, I picked Barrera 3 days ago in this thread.

they say that about a lot of ex Ward opponents

Good for Barrera droping Abel I only care for Golovkin Sanchez.

Sometime a boxer just need a trainer who can actually dedicate time to the development of the Boxer.

Barrera is not a Rigondeaux or GGG who just need someone to keep him in shape, Barrera actually need to be trained, he still have a lot of hole on his game.
