Does Salas not like Diaz, I would understand this if he did.

Gamboa's implosion happened a long time ago, really. Now what's left of his career is just a sad comedy.
Gamboa was a top product of the Cuban school and of Emanuel Steward' Kronk... Generally, the Cubans don't benefit from good management in the U.S. -- see also Rigo and Ortiz...

Based on what is said here, I can't blame him for this incident. It doesn't seem like he is at fault here...

Hopefully Ortiz under Hearn will be a lot more active and get a chance at a title.

I actually have no idea who's managing Rigo, but it would be nice to see him in a few more fights in 2017 too.

Rigo's career is dead. It's unreasonable to think he's all of a sudden going to become especially active. Gamboa's career has been a circus for years now. Ortiz seems to be okay. Yoan Pablo Hernandez did well, and Lara is doing fine.

Boxing has always been a treacherous sport, and it's largely populated by uneducated athletes. The communist system produced certain effects in the Cubans on the island. The problem some Cuban defectors have, in my view, is not one of intelligence, but of character. As always, people should be judged as individuals, not as a group.

Maybe their naivety is what attracts the sharks, it a great shame considering how many great boxers the country produces. Unfortunately for them coming out in the real world means they get to meet some real villains who claim to be helping.

I agree with you, Edward. Blame goes to the trainer for his unprofessionalism in this case. What I meant was the way Gamboa's career in general has gone so far.
