Comments Thread For: Smith Looking to Prove He's No One-Hit Wonder Against Hopkins

By Keith Idec - NEW YORK Joe Smith Jr. has heard some amusing responses since news began spreading two months ago that he landed a fight against Bernard Hopkins. "Well, I have a lot people say, Wow! He's still fighting?,' " Smith said. "I've had people ask me if it was his son that I was fighting? All kinds of things. But when I say the name, they say, Wow! It's great.' " Fighting Hopkins indeed is the greatest opportunity of Smith's life...

The kid works hard and has a good attitude. Who cares if he isn't flashy. I'd rather deal with him that BHop who just keeps blabbering on endlessly. What BHop doesn't realize is, so what with a legacy if you're such a blowhard you alienate everyone. Maybe that's why he goes by 'the alien' now. LOL

What this smart talking idiot doesn't realize is why did he chose Smith if he was so "common"?

If he beats him as he claims, where's the glory?

I hope Smith puts the swagger away for good.

          Bernard's turning into a clown.

Seems like a good guy Smith.

He's not really going to get a lot of credit if he wins though, people will just say he beat an old man now.

People have written off Hopkins before for being too old, so don't be tempted to fall into that trap.

Kovalev dominated Hopkins but let's not forget Kovalev is a special fighter with special power (cough*russian olympians*cough) . I think that fight may have turned out much the same in 2008. Age may have played a part but we won't know for sure until tomorrow night.

I'm picking B-Hop by a debatable split decision.
